Staff Training
All staff receive an initial forty hours of orientation training before beginning to work with youth. Stevens’ orientation and ongoing staff training program complies with regulatory requirements, ensures staff’s ability to safety and effectively perform responsibilities, and encourages ongoing professional development.
The program nurse trains staff in first aid, universal precautions, administering medications and all other medically related information.
A yearly in-service schedule is developed for program staff. The agency provides at least twenty-four hours of in-service training time during the year.
